God’s Desire to Get Married Motivated Him to Become Incarnated

Wedding Day

In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus Christ alluded to the coming age of the kingdom as the time of His wedding (vv. 22:2; 25:1). Correspondingly, the book of Revelation (19:7) shows the marriage of Christ taking place at the end of the great tribulation, the close of the present age, and with the commencement of the millennial kingdom, the next age. This next age, a period of 1000 years (Revelation 20:4-7), will be the Lord’s wedding day, for “with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day” (2 Peter 3:8).

Matthew 22:2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son.

Matthew 25:1 At that time the kingdom of the heavens will be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

Revelation 19:7 Let us rejoice and exult, and let us give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.
