God’s Desire to Get Married Motivated Him to Become Incarnated

The last of the four major visions, the culminating vision which John saw in his revelation of Jesus Christ—the consummation of the Bible as well as the consummation of all of God’s work through the ages—was that of the marriage of the universal couple of the Bible: the processed and consummated Triune God with His redeemed, regenerated, transformed, and glorified tripartite elect, the believers. Hence, the Bible begins with a single God, a “Bachelor,” and it ends with a corporate God—God together with His counterpart, His wife for eternity!

Revelation 21:2 And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:9-11 And one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, Come here; I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb. And he carried me away in spirit onto a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God….
