God’s Desire to Get Married Motivated Him to Become Incarnated

Song of Songs

The Old Testament book Song of Songs, or the Song of Solomon, is a poem composed by King Solomon. Though it describes King Solomon’s love for, courtship of, and marriage to a lowly “country girl,” Bible expositors have long acknowledged that this poem depicts, through figures and signs, both God’s love relationship with man and His gradual transformation of man until man matches Him and becomes one with Him as His bride, His loving counterpart (Lee, L-S Song 2-3).

Song of Songs 2:4 He brought me into the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
