Son of God

Because the Lord Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, He is the Son of God. In response to Mary’s question as to how it was possible for her, as a virgin, to conceive and bear a son, the angel Gabriel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore also the holy thing which is born will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35).
