Christ’s Genealogies Reveal That We can Be Related to Him!

Rahab

Rahab was a prostitute in Jericho, a city cursed by God. Joshua sent two spies to Jericho who took cover in Rahab’s house. She promised not to betray them if they would promise to save her and her household when the children of Israel, led by Jehovah, were sure to overthrow the city (Joshua 2, 6). They each kept their promises, and after the destruction of Jericho, Rahab married Salmon, a leader of the tribe of Judah. With Salmon, “she brought forth Boaz, a godly man, out of whom Christ came. Regardless of our background, if we turn to God and His people and are joined to the proper person among God’s people, we will bring forth proper fruit and participate in the enjoyment of the birthright of Christ” (Lee, Footnotes 6).
