Scriptures Foretell That God Would Enter the Human RaceGenesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise you on the head, but you will bruise him on the heel. The incarnation of Christ was first prophesied as early as Genesis chapter three. After the woman had been beguiled by the serpent and partook with Adam of the forbidden tree, God did not put the two of them to death, as He had warned (2:17). Instead, He preached the gospel to them. Surely this speaking was good news, for upon hearing it Adam named his wife Eve, which means living (3:20)! Gods word to them implied that they would live and produce children, for within this gospel message was a particular word to the serpent: that a seed would come forth from the woman, and that this seed would bruise the serpents head (3:15). Four thousand years later, in the fullness of the time, the Seed of the woman was indeed born (Matthew 1:16; Galatians 4:4-5). Referring to the incarnated Christ as this divine seed, the writer of Hebrews tells us that since therefore the children have shared in blood and flesh, He also Himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death He might destroy him who has the might of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2:14). Gods promise of the seed of the woman surely refers to the incarnated Christ not as a mere man, but as a God-man, fully God yet a genuine man, since man apart from God is inferior to the angelic race to which the devil belongs (Hebrews 2:6-7). The incarnated Christ bruised the serpents headHe has destroyed the devil! [Genesis 3:15] [Isaiah 7:14] [Isaiah 9:6] [Micah 5:2]
